Deputy Minister Yanko Topalov Opened the Conference ‘Quality Assurance in European University Alliances: Beyond Borders’

Bulgarian staff and talent, which we have in so many areas, are the main engine of growth of the Bulgarian economy. This was said by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Yanko Topalov during the opening of the national conference ‘Quality Assurance in European University Alliances: Going Beyond Borders’.

‘Student mobility opportunities are key to the European economy. Along with this, however, it is very important for us to create a framework that encourages more of the young people who graduate from leading European universities to return to our country and apply what they have learned here,’ Deputy Minister Topalov said.

‘Bulgaria has traditions in the teaching of economics in higher education, as well as in many other areas, but the dynamic progress of new information technologies and innovations, as well as the rapid growth of resources, makes it necessary to develop new forms of training’, added the Deputy Minister of Economy and stressed that ‘we have the basis, but we should not forget that we need to build on what we have achieved so far, because young people are the future of Bulgaria’. He assured the organizers of the event that, as before, the Ministry of Economy and Industry will be an active partner in these processes.

The national conference is organised by the Higher School of Agribusiness and Development (HSAAD) of the regions under the European University Alliance Innovation for Regional Sustainability (INVEST) project on: ‘Quality Assurance in European University Alliances: Going Beyond Borders’.

The event was attended by the President of HSAAD Assoc. prof. Svetla Dimitrova and the Rector of the educational institution prof. Mariana Ivanova, representatives of universities from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Finland, etc.
