Bulgarian export-oriented companies can rely on the Ministry’s team, on the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency, and on our economic representatives abroad to explore opportunities for entering new markets and expanding their presence in traditional ones. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nevena Lazarova during the official ceremony at which the annual Golden Cellar awards were presented.

The Golden Cellar awards have been organized for the ninth consecutive year by the website Exporter.bg. The Ministry of Economy and Industry was the patron of the event, which honored export-oriented Bulgarian small and medium-sized enterprises.

Deputy Minister Nevena Lazarova presented the Grand Crystal Prize Golden Cellar for Strongest Support from Wine Connoisseurs on Social Networks to Vinex Slavyantsi. Among the award recipients were also the wineries Medi Valley, Rupel, Domain Bessa Valley Winery, Chateau Avli, and others.

An award for good partnership between Bulgarian and Spanish companies was also presented to Maria Yancheva, Commercial Affairs, Spain (Trade and Economic Affairs Office of Bulgaria, Madrid). The award was accepted by Deputy Minister Lazarova on her behalf.

During the ceremony, Deputy Minister Lazarova emphasized that, in recent years, one of the most developed agricultural sectors—wine production—has reinforced and fostered Bulgaria’s prestige as a European wine destination with centuries-old traditions and international authority. “It is extremely important for us to maintain the country’s leading position in this industry,” Lazarova stressed.

According to her, the positive results stem from intensive restructuring and modernization of production facilities, which lead to increased competitiveness in the sector. “Wine production is our country’s calling card, much like the production of yogurt and rose oil,” the Deputy Minister of Economy said.
