Deputy Minister Nikolay Pavlov opened the Bulgarian-Vietnamese Business Forum

“The Bulgarian side is ready to provide support to Vietnamese companies willing to invest in Bulgaria in sectors where we have advantages and in those that provide high added value and increased competitiveness of the economy.” This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Nikolay Pavlov at the opening of the Bulgarian-Vietnamese Business Forum. On the Vietnamese side, the event was opened by the President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr. Vuong Dinh Huy.

In the framework of the forum, Deputy Minister Pavlov stressed that the event aims to strengthen the dialogue and intensify the trade and economic relations between the two countries. “I appeal to the companies to take full advantage of the opportunity and hold their meetings to discuss joint activities in the field of trade and high technology. We take into account the fact that Vietnam is an important and promising trade, economic and investment partner of the EU,” the Deputy Minister added. According to him, for the first five months of 2023, a total trading of USD 73.51 million was achieved.

Deputy Minister of Economy Nikolay Pavlov briefed the participants of the forum on the implementation of specific measures and incentives to support and encourage investments. As a member of the European Union, our country provides unimpeded and duty-free access to the EU’s 500 million-strong market. “We have the potential to attract Vietnamese investments and provide favourable opportunities for activities in a number of fields such as automotive industry, information and communications technology, electronics and electrical engineering, transition to a green economy, medicine, etc. We count on your cooperation and let us together continue to make targeted efforts to increase interest in Bulgaria as an investment destination,” Deputy Minister Pavlov said in conclusion.
