“Indonesia is an important economic partner of Bulgaria and we will keep on maintaining these well established economic relations. The potential surpasses the statistical data we have and we should develop it”. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky at the meeting held today with His Excellency Bunian Saptomo, Ambassador of Indonesia. He added one of Bulgaria’s goals is to secure a foothold on markets outside the EU, such as the Asian one.

The BIA also pressed for the inclusion of public procurement in e-government and the typifying of application dossier. According to the BIA, this will ensure transparency in the process and will reduce opportunities for corruption in tenders.

Bulgarian Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky invited the biggest Investment fund for new technologies in the world Mass Challenge to expand its activity and set foot at the Bulgarian market. Opportunities to invest in Bulgaria were discussed at a bilateral meeting with a technological consultant Roy Rachmaninov in New York. Mass Challenge provides support to nearly 130 start-up businesses under four programmes of the accelerator.

“Bulgaria needs to export innovative products with high added value. Innovation is a key engine to achieve accelerated economic growth and Bulgaria has a huge potential in this direction”. That was stated by Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky at the meeting held in New York with Mr. Michael Karsh, the CEO of Karsh Capital, who has implemented excessive private investment in the country and planed to expand their activities.

Deputy Minister of Economy Lyuben Petrov awarded the prize to the Most Innovative Company of 2014 at an annual ceremony organized by the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria. The firm KEIT OOD won the award for patients in the sphere of high technologies and nanotechnologies for security and protection of a wide range of products, goods and documents. The company’s products are used in countries such as the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Oman and Tanzania

“Providing an effective legal framework and supporting small and medium enterprises to reach new markets are among our main priorities. Possible cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and the World Bank can accelerate the implementation of result-oriented reforms.”, said the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky at a meeting with the World Bank’s Permanent Representative for Bulgaria Mr. Tony Thompson held today.

“There are no hazardous appliances in Bulgarian market of household and audio-visual equipment but some discrepancies regarding the marks of goods and non-compliance with the requirements for translation of user manual into Bulgarian language have been concluded “. That was stated by Deputy Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva, enrolling into the joint inspection carried out by the Ministry of Economy, the State Agency for Metrology and Technical Surveillance (SAMTS) and the Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) to check domestic appliances and consumer electronics.

Within the overall policy for export promotion and development of small and medium- sized enterprises, the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky, through the Bulgarian Export Insurance Agency (BAEZ), will prepare new insurance products to support Bulgarian exporters on international markets and will protect them from risks.

Deputy Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva was enrolled in the ongoing joint inspections carried out today in Pamporovo in order to verify the compliance with consumer rights in the winter resorts. The State Agency for Metrology and Technical Surveillance (SAMTS), the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) and the Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP) were included in the checks.

“Trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and France are good, but I consider that we are able to give additional impetus that will attract new investors in Bulgaria and will strengthen the presence of Bulgarian goods on the French market as well”. That was said by the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky within the meeting held earlier today with the France’s Ambassador to Bulgaria Mr. Xavier de Laper Cabannes
