Acceleration of the building up of the big infrastructural projects between Bulgaria and Serbia was agreed at the Second Session of the Joint Economic Commission between the two countries, which was completed in Belgrade today. The Cо-Chairmen of the Commission – the Minister of Economy Bozhidar Lukarski and the Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic signed a Protocol for Cooperation in seven economic spheres of priority.

“Bulgaria and Serbia have always been fraternal nations but we have not paid sufficient attention to the economic cooperation in the last few years, we have quite a lot of work to do and I hope that we shall make progress for these two days.” This was declared by the Minister of Economy, Bozhidar Lukarski, who together with the Minister of Mining and Energy, Aleksandar Antic, opened the Second Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia, which is held in Belgrade. Minister Antic is the Cо-Chairman of the Joint Commission on the part of Serbia, and it is cо-chaired by Minister Lukarski on the part of Bulgaria.

“The fact that we have managed to attract such a key investment as BHTC to Industrial Zone Bozhurishte awakens the interest of other German investors. The potential is considerable and we do have preliminary indications for investment intent”. That was announced by the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky following his meeting with the technical director of BHTC Andreas Teuner. The meeting was held as part of Minister Loukarsky’s visit in North Rhine-Westphalia.
