Mission

The main mission of the Ministry of Economy is to develop and carry out clear and transparent economic policy that protects the national and public interest and is based on the European principles. ME is working to create a competitive low-carbon economy, which will guarantee growth and development of Bulgaria. Among our tasks are also the promotion and acceleration of investments, innovations and competitiveness.

• Protection of consumers' interests;
• Convert Bulgaria into a front door for goods and investments from East Asia and China into the European Union;
• Fostering investment in priority sectors that create high value added and increase the overall competitiveness of the economy;
• Improving the competitiveness of the Bulgarian companies by implementing an effective regulatory framework, low taxes, built and well-developed transport and energy infrastructure, encouraging the export and increasing the amount of the investments in research and development;
• Support the business through financial resources from the Operational Program "Competitiveness" in full compliance with the principles of transparent and effective funds management.
