Regulation (EU) 2019/515 applies from 19 April 2020. The aim of the regulation is to strengthen the functioning of the internal market by improving the application of the mutual recognition principle, increase the legal clarity and certainty by introducing a clearly defined procedure for the assessment of goods by the competent authorities, including by strengthening the role of the product contact points as well as providing a SOLVIT procedure for problem-solving between economic operators concerned and competent authorities of Member States.
