For the period 2021-2027, its activities have been incorporated into the broader Single Market program, while the financial instruments have been absorbed by the InvestEU program.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><a href=\"#id1en\">InvestEU Programme<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#id2en\">Single Market Programme<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #29588e\"><strong><a id=\"id1en\" style=\"color: #29588e\"><\/a>InvestEU Programme<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/BG\/TXT\/?uri=celex%3A32021R0523\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regulation (EU) 2021\/523<\/a> of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 March 2021 establishing the InvestEU Program and amending Regulation (EU) 2015\/1017 (OJ L 107, 26.3.2021, pp. 30\u201389).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #29588e\"><strong>What is the program?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">InvestEU is the EU&#8217;s flagship investment program for the period 2021-2027, aimed at strengthening the sustainable growth and competitiveness of the European economy. It aims to stimulate investment in the EU by bringing together various financial instruments and guarantees that were previously scattered across different programs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The program creates a single European Union (EU) mechanism to support investment in the Union for the period 2021-2027, bringing together the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) and 13 other centralized EU financial instruments under common operating rules. The program aims to mobilize additional investments of \u20ac372 billion for the period 2021-2027.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #29588e\"><strong>What is the objective of the program?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The overall objective of the InvestEU program is to support financing the COVID-19 crisis;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">support for investments contributing to the objectives of the Strategic Technologies Platform for Europe (STEP), an initiative established by <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/BG\/TXT\/?uri=celex%3A32024R0795\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regulation (EU) 2024\/795<\/a>, which aims to strengthen the EU&#8217;s competitiveness, and reduce its strategic dependencies in three strategic technology areas: digital technologies and deep technological innovation, clean and resource-efficient technologies, and failures or suboptimal investment situations:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">sustainable infrastructure \u2014 from transport, energy, and digital services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #29588e\"><strong>How does the program provide support to SMEs?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021\/523, <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>InvestEU program<\/strong> creates a single mechanism to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with the main objective of facilitating their access to finance on terms more favorable than those normally offered by the market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Essentially, the program provides a <strong>guarantee commitment from the European Union<\/strong>, which reduces the financial risk for banks and investment intermediaries. Through this guarantee, the EU covers a certain percentage of potential losses resulting from the default of enterprises. This encourages financial institutions to lend and invest in SMEs, including those with a higher risk profile or limited access to capital markets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #29588e\"><strong>What is the budget of the program?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">InvestEU has a budget guarantee of \u20ac26.2 billion (at current prices), financed from <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/EN\/legal-content\/glossary\/nextgenerationeu.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NextGenerationEU<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/EN\/legal-content\/glossary\/multiannual-financial-framework-mff.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the multiannual financial framework (2021-2027) resources<\/a>.
