Updated last 18.06.2025

What is the programme?

Erasmus+ is the EU program for promotion of education, training, youth and sports in Europe. In the programming period 2021–2027, particular emphasis is placed on social inclusion, the ecological and digital transition, and increasing the participation of young people in democratic life.

What is the main objective of the programme?

The overall objective of the Programme is to support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional, and personal development of people in the fields of education and training, youth, and sport, both in Europe and beyond, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs and social cohesion, innovation development, and the strengthening of European identity and active citizenship. The programme is a key instrument for building the European Education Area, supporting the implementation of European strategic cooperation in the field of education and training and related sectoral programmes, advancing cooperation in youth policy under the European Union’s 2019–2027 Youth Strategy, and developing the European dimension in sport.

Erasmus+ aims to promote:

  • educational and youth mobility, including in sport;
  • cooperation among organizations and institutions, quality, inclusion, innovation, and creativity at organizational and policy levels in the fields of education, training, youth, and sport.

These objectives are implemented through three essential actions:

  • educational mobility,
  • cooperation between organizations and institutions,
  • support to policies and cooperation.

Who is eligible to apply under the program/eligibility criteria?

The applicant and the project should meet any and all eligibility criteria, related to the procedure under which the proposal is submitted.
