Strategic net-zero projects play a key role in strengthening the EU’s net-zero industry. They help enhance resilience, increase strategic autonomy, and support competitiveness, while also boosting the production of technologies needed to achieve climate neutrality.
The Beli Net Zero project involves the implementation of an integrated system for the capture, transport, and onshore underground storage of carbon dioxide at the Beli Izvor cement plant. The project is aligned with the Union’s objectives referred to in Article 13(1)(c) of the Regulation in the field of climate or energy through the deployment of net-zero technologies using practices that incorporate enhanced environmental sustainability, efficiency, and circularity features, significantly and permanently reducing CO₂-equivalent emissions.
