The Federal Government and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria welcomed an agreement reached between two parties to resolve the open economic issue that affects federal investment guarantees for projects in Bulgaria. As a result, Germany again will be able to consider applications for providing investment guarantees for Bulgaria. This way we are creating conditions for more complex economic cooperation between both countries.

“Currently, Bulgarian exporters are suffering serious loss due to the economic policies implemented by Russia of restricting the Bulgarian products access to the Russian market”. This was stated by Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky during a meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine Mykola Baltazhi.

” InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) and Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) will set up regional offices in Plovdiv.” Thas was stated by the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky after a meeting held with the Mayor of Plovdiv Ivan Totev, the District Governor Rosalyn Petkov and the mayors of the region associated with Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ).

The issue of reducing administrative burdens and regulations for the businesses was raised by the management of leading German company Aurubis at a meeting held today with Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky. The meeting was attended by the Senior Vice President of the company Wolf Gerkens, the Executive Directors Tim Kurth and Georgi Nikolov, as well as experts of the company.

The Ministry of Economy should tackle with the highest priority in reducing administrative burdens and regulations on business. That was insisted by the management of the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) during a meeting with the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky held today. We should restore the society right in its relations with the administration, called the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the BIA Sasho Donchev.

Measures to enhance trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and the USA were discussed by Economy Minister Bojidar Loukarsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA here HE Marcie Ries at a meeting held in the Ministry of Economy today. The Minister acquainted the Ambassador with the priorities of the Bulgarian government in the economic field and shared impressions of his recent working visit to the USA and the meetings held with representatives of business there.

“Indonesia is an important economic partner of Bulgaria and we will keep on maintaining these well established economic relations. The potential surpasses the statistical data we have and we should develop it”. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky at the meeting held today with His Excellency Bunian Saptomo, Ambassador of Indonesia. He added one of Bulgaria’s goals is to secure a foothold on markets outside the EU, such as the Asian one.

The BIA also pressed for the inclusion of public procurement in e-government and the typifying of application dossier. According to the BIA, this will ensure transparency in the process and will reduce opportunities for corruption in tenders.
